Pardon my ignorance, but is there a temperature sensor on the bike?
And is it to measure the air temperature so it can give the right compression to the starting engine?

 

The temp sensor is on the right side of the engine, almost where the spark plug is.

The incoming air temp sensor (or whatever it is called) is where the throttle body is. I'm pretty sure it doesn't correct for air temperature...

 

Thats what I was thinking it was ...... just had to get dinner started lol

 

I got the only one on ebay yesterday its 35 for brand new one ... part number is 5yp-85790-00

 

its a coolant temperature sensor

 

The temperature sensor will indicate to the ecu if its a cold start, therefore needing fast idle. Also when the engine is hot to kick the radiator fan into action.

I used to have a 3.0 V6 Renault Espace and the temperature sensor went faulty, it was telling the engine it was -56 all the time.

 

Sometimes it starts and dies, which after that it doesn't start. Then, after some minutes, I can turn the key off and on and it starts out of a sudden.
The thing is, up to 15-17C it starts fine, but on warm weather I sometimes can't start it.

I've started to give it throttle as soon as it starts, cause it may die otherwise.
Now I was able to start it, 25C day, I parked it for a few minutes, was going to start it and it dies almost right away.

Another thing, if I'm able to start it and it holds for like 30 seconds, then it won't die at all if I stop on a traffic light or something like that.

Anyone recognizes this problem?

I had exactly the same thing last summer, I changed the fuel injection motor and it runs fine now.
